finally, some progress

I love spring break. Or any kind of break. I feel like it's really the only time I can work on my projects in earnest.

The lace blouse is really close, I've seamed up the main pieces and am going to start attaching the border/ button band in the next couple of days.

So when it's done, it'll look something like this:

I'm actually relieved that it fits. I made the small size back first, measured it, then decided it might end up too large because I was having trouble getting gauge. I started again and made the extra small size for all parts, and decided to do edge stitches for easier seaming. I'm so glad I did that, the seaming wasn't that bad after all. For the shoulder seams, I used a crochet hook and did single crochet along the right side, so that the seam is a visible chain of stitches. After a few different tries, I thought that looked the neatest. Weaving in the ends was tricky, I guess I won't really know whether I did a good job or not until after wearing it a few times.

I think I might be able to reach my goal for the week after all! (fingers crossed)
