Gathering 2006 and making silk paper

I went on my first ever spinning retreat the first week of November. I drove up to NH and took three classes over the weekend, spun thin yarns with Rita Buchanan,learned different drafting techniques and tried out a variety of different material with Bobby Irwin, and made silk paper with Robin Russo. I definitely had the most fun with Robin, maybe because it was the most different and new technique. It was interesting to find that, just like dyeing and then spinning up the dyed roving, the paper before and after it actually becomes paper is not really the same. I was disappointed with some outcomes and pleasantly surprised by others. Here are some process shots for the record:
